Recently purchased by a couple with an outstanding combined skillset (wellness/spa meets executive chef), the former Wanderer’s Rest has transformed into the boutique eight-room property known as The River Suites, Kangaroo Island.
Touring with Exceptional Kangaroo Island is available, both small group and private options.
Rooms – 8 suites
Each suite offers a king bed, with some able to split into two king singles. There is an option for an additional bed at a nominal daily fee.
Amenities include high-speed internet and essential kitchen appliances: a microwave, coffee machine and kettle.
Unwind by the seasonal pool, open November through April, or indulge in rejuvenating beauty treatments and massages by appointment.
Guests will enjoy complimentary daily continental breakfast at the in-house restaurant from 8:00 am.
Dining – Samphire Restaurant
Located on-site, Samphire Restaurant brings a fresh new dining option to Kangaroo Island, focused on showcasing the island’s finest local seafood.
The menu offering (see sample below) is a degustation, priced at $129 per person (subject to change), with a curated beverage-pairing also available.
The River exclusively showcases the Tasting Menu, an opulent medley of the finest local seafood and meats. Due to the nature of small-scale dining, the restaurant does not cater for vegetarian and seafood allergies, however they do cater for other allergies such as gluten or lactose intolerance.
